Description: The campsite is considered primitive, designed to furnish only the basic needs of the camper. The campsites consist of a cleared area, fire ring, and table. In addition, vault toilets and drinking water are available.
The campground has six horse campsites, picket lines, a vault toilet, shaded campsites, picnic tables, and a hand-pumped well. It allows for portable corrals.
All sites are on a first-come, first-served basis for a fee.
Highlights: Reno Horse Campground offers 17 miles of horseback riding trail and hiking trails in the summer and cross-country skiing and snowmobiling trails in the winter. No ATV use is allowed, and no bike trails are offered in this unit.
Horseback riding trails are open May 1 - November 1.
Communication is limited and the trail system allows for multiple uses in some areas.
