• Solana State Forest is located in the southeastern corner of Aitkin County. State forests can be accessed from different points. Refer to the Minnesota state highway map for directions.
• The terrain in the forest is mostly level to gently rolling and the forest contains many swampy areas. Slightly over half of the area within the forest is wetland. Due to the level topography and heavy soil, trails are susceptible to temporary closures following major rain events and in early spring. Always check the trail conditions or call ahead to make sure the trails are open.
• There are no campgrounds within the forest. However dispersed camping is allowed provided state forest rules are followed.
