The purpose of the Division of Enforcement weekly report is to promote the activities performed by Division of Enforcement personnel in protecting Minnesota's natural resources through effective law enforcement and education. Information is gathered from the Division's 18 districts as well as various subsections and compiled and edited by the Division public information officer.

Featured Update
CO Garrett Thomas (Eagan) primarily patrolled for archery deer hunters, shore anglers, and out-of-season waterfowl hunters. Like last week, many more instances of duck hunting out of season in the South Zone were dealt with, with some hunters admitting to using AI/Chat GPT to check zone/season dates as opposed to the regulation book or DNR website. Thomas also continues to find many violations while checking shore anglers, including no angling licenses, using sunfish as bait, harvesting gamefish with cast nets, illegal minnow harvest from AIS waters, unpermitted cast nets for gizzard shad, and illegal transport of gizzard shad. Additional violations throughout the week included agricultural trespass and using a firearm on an archery only waterfowl production area.
