Twin Lake (West)

Location:

This lake is located north and east of Elk River along the Anoka County-Sherburn County border.

 

Species Present:

Northern Pike: higher than average abundance, smaller than average size.
Largemouth Bass: lower than average abundance, smaller than average size.
Bluegill: average abundance, average size with larger fish present some years.
Crappie: average abundance, smaller than average size with larger fish present some years.

 

 

Boat Access:

Anglers launch boats at the northeast corner of the lake next to the outlet to East Twin. This access is not suitable for larger boats and may be un-usable in low water conditions.

 

Shore Fishing:

Anglers fish along the road on the east shore of the lake. Fishing may be limited by overhanging trees and aquatic vegetation.

 

Management Plans:

  1. Fisheries standard lake survey as needed when staff time permits. 

 

Comments:

This lake is subject to winterkill. The quality and quantity of fish present will vary greatly as a result. Fish migrate into this lake from adjacent East Twin.
