Gusty Winds: June 28, 2008

Gusty winds were reported in Minnesota on Saturday, June 28 2008 in the wake of a departing low pressure system. Below is a public information statement about the winds from the Chanhassen National Weather Service.

A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT MOVED THROUGH THE STATE ON
FRIDAY SLOWED AND DEEPENED ON SATURDAY OVER LAKE SUPERIOR. THIS
CREATED GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS ACROSS WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTH
CENTRAL MINNESOTA DURING SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
THE BELOW TABLE LISTS THE MAXIMUM OBSERVED WIND GUSTS AT SEVERAL
AUTOMATED OBSERVING SITES ACROSS WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA. 
THE TIME LISTED IS ROUNDED TO THE NEAREST TOP OF THE HOUR. NOTE THAT HIGHER 
WIND SPEEDS MAY HAVE OCCURRED AT SOME STATIONS BETWEEN THE OBSERVATION TIMES.
