Another round of heavy thunderstorms hit Minnesota and western Wisconsin during the evening of August 10 and tapered off during the early morning hours of the 11th. Hardest hit was western Wisconsin in eastern St. Croix, Pierce and Dunn Counties. The highest 24 hour rainfall total found in Minnesota was 4.85 inches at the Lower St. Anthony Falls in Minneapolis. A site in Rosemount saw 4.80 inches. The St. Paul campus Climate observatory saw 4.29 inches, with 2.97 inches falling in just one hour between 9:45pm and 10:45pm. CDT. 1.05 inches fell in just 15 minutes. 1.25 inches of rain fell in one hour between 9:00pm and 10:00pm at the Twin Cities International Airport.
Most of the impacts in Minnesota were related to street flooding. A bus and a police car were stuck in water near Central and 20th Avenue in Minneapolis.
