The month of May finished the way much of the rest of the month went, on a wet and stormy note. A series of thunderstorms developed in the eastern portions of the state shortly after 1PM and then moved to the northeast. Along with producing brief downpours and gusty winds large hail also fell from these storms. There were reports, including here at the State Climatology Office, of up to quarter-sized hail as the thunderstorms moved through. The largest hail reported so far was 1.25 inches in Roseville near 35W and County Road C.

Listed below are storm reports from the National Weather Service.
