First frost of the season for many across Minnesota.

The growing season ended across a good portion of Minnesota with clear skies and light winds during the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Clouds remained over southwest and south central Minnesota so temperatures were a bit warmer there. The coldest temperature found was at Embarrass with 18 degrees. The Twin Cities bottomed out at 34 degrees, cold enough to see light frost in the heart of the metro, but not an official freeze.

The average date of the first frost in central and southern Minnesota ranges from the last week of September to the first week of October. Freeze Dates
