Fire Danger Rating

Cross-country OHV travel is generally prohibited on state forest lands, except pursuant to MS Chapt. 84.926 (season hunting trapping exceptions).

For information on roads and trails on county land, please contact the appropriate county.

In a closed forest, all roads and trails are closed except for routes specifically listed as open below. This includes all unmarked roads and trails. Be sure to check the comments for specific guidelines.

 

Visitor Alert:

  • Spring temporarily trail and road closers are now in affect due to wet conditions in state forest, parks, recreation area and wildlife management areas.
  • Road and trail users should pay particular attention to state forest closures. A closed forest means that all roads and trails are closed. Signs will be posted at entry points and parking lots. The closures include all unmarked roads and trails, unless specifically listed.
