Directions: From Morristown go 0.75 miles W. on Hwy. 60, 1 mile W. on Co. Rd. 99, 0.5 miles N. on twp. road, 0.1 mile W. on walking trail.

Description: This WMA has one parcel at the outlet of the Cannon River on Lower Sakatah Lake and two parcels which are islands on Sakatah Lake. This WMA consists of marsh and swamp with oak, basswood and boxelder forest types. The dam is not part of the WMA.

Look for wood ducks, pheasants, squirrels, cottontail rabbits, mink, pelicans, red-winged blackbirds, sedge wrens, and savanna sparrows.

Management focus is on wetland and shoreline protection, and to provide a habitat corridor. Please respect adjoining private property.

At this scale, these WMA boundaries are general, and do not accurately represent the actual legal boundaries. WMA users still need to verify public lands boundaries by observing boundary signs and contacting local DNR Wildlife offices.
