DNR Commissioner's Orders

About Commissioner’s Orders

Commissioner’s orders are authorized specifically in statute in most cases. Such statutory authority exempts the orders from rulemaking under the Administrative Procedures Act. A commissioner's order is published in the State Register if so required by the statutory authority.
