Biomes Poster

This brightly colored poster (30 x 20 in.) focuses on the ecological classification of Minnesota's ecosystems. The back of the poster is divided into panels containing information on each on Minnesota's four biomes (coniferous forest; deciduous forest; prairie grassland; and tallgrass aspen parkland) as well as other information.

Educational ideas for using Biomes information:

  • Use the poster back panels and front of poster to create a bulletin board.
  • Copy poster back panels and distribute to students for reading. Panels can be pasted into a journal and students can add their own impressions and thoughts on each biome.
  • Locate your community on the Minnesota Biome Map and learn more about your biome.
  • Use the Biome Table and Tree information web pages to identify the trees in your biome.
  • Learn more detailed information about Minnesota's biomes and ecosystems through the Ecological Classification System.
