CO Stephen Westby (Little Falls) patrolled area lakes and rivers for boating and angling activity. Several anglers were checked with mixed reports. Please look over your required boating equipment before heading out, such as enough life jackets for all aboard, type 4 throwable, fire extinguisher, and horn/whistle.

CO Todd VanderWeyst (Paynesville) worked angling activity this week with the panfish starting to pick up. Area bow fishing has moved into the rivers and has continued to be a focus. The officer did administrative and vehicle maintenance work.

CO Chad Thesing (Albany) worked anglers, turkey hunters, boaters, and ATV activity. Assistance was given at a firearm safety class field day. Wetland issues were investigated. Enforcement activity included fishing without a license.

CO Brett Fox (St. Cloud) spent the week patrolling for ATV and angling activity. Fox spent time patrolling the Mississippi river by boat and ensured his boat was ready for summer after being stored for the winter. Violations this week include no license in possession while fishing.

CO Adam Stennett (Annandale) worked the station for fishing, bow fishing and turkey hunting activity. Crappie fishing has picked up in recent days. CO Stennett would like to remind anglers heading out to Clearwater Lake that the crappie and sunfish limits have changed to 5 crappies and 10 sunfish. A fisherman was found to be over-limit on crappies and sunfish on a local lake. The fish were seized, and enforcement action was taken. A burning violation was discovered on a dry windy day. The person was burning multiple brush piles during the day and near a cattail marsh. Enforcement action was taken for burning without a permit. A firearm safety field day was also instructed.

CO Keith Bertram (Long Prairie) reports fishing pressure is limited in the area, but turkey hunters are having fair success. Follow up was conducted on open cases. Equipment maintenance was also conducted.
