CO Garrett Thomas (Eagan) spent time patrolling local lakes, streams, and rivers for anglers. The heavy rain has resulted in a lot of debris flowing downriver, so anglers and boaters should use caution and travel at slower-than-normal speeds. Time was also spent teaching at both Camp Ripley and at the Deputy Boating School.

CO Scott Arntzen (Forest Lake) spent part of the week assisting with boat training at Camp Ripley. He also spent time on the St. Croix River working the border water opener and fielding several calls about nuisance animals. Violations for the week included insufficient PFDs on board, fishing without a license and registration issues.

CO Steve Chihak (Hastings) spent the week working sport fishing, boating and water safety, and ATV enforcement. Time was also spent responding to TIP reports and miscellaneous wildlife-related calls. Enforcement action was taken for failure to renew expired watercraft registration, no throwable device, and using an illegal method to take fish (snagging).

CO Tony Salzer (Ham Lake) patrolled Anoka County for angling and boating activity. Salzer also patrolled area rivers and dams for fishing activity. Water levels on the rivers are high, with some anglers still reporting success. Please remember that bass, walleye, and northern pike seasons are still closed. Salzer also assisted other COs on a turkey investigation that resulted in several violations. Enforcement action was taken.

CO Matt Paavola (White Bear Lake) patrolled for angling activity for the border water walleye opener on the St. Croix River, where anglers were finding some success. He also spent time assisting multiple local agencies and neighboring officers. Angling related violations were addressed throughout the week and arrests were made for outstanding warrants.

CO Tou Vang (ELCOP-Hmong) assisted with training at Camp Ripley for Deputy Boating School and officer water survival training.

Metro Officer vacant.
