Turkey hunters have continued to find mixed success in the area as birds have been active despite recent rain. Bulthuis also checked several anglers in popular shore fishing locations.

CO Shawn Wichmann (Slayton) spent the week checking area anglers, monitoring ATV traffic, and checking turkey hunters. Turkey hunters were having very limited success. Enforcement action throughout the week was taken for a variety of violations.

CO Levi Brown (Benson) monitored fishing activity in his station. Brown spoke to 30 attendees at a Firearm Safety Class in Granite falls about the laws and ethics of hunting. Brown also spent time at the Appleton ATV Park with the uptick in visitors due to the warmer weather.
