District 16 - New Ulm area

CO Shane Vernier (Willmar) spent time working angling and spring turkey hunting activity. He gave a law and ethics presentations to a Firearm Safety Class. Vernier also followed up on a dumping complaint.

CO Thor Nelson (New Ulm) received calls reporting trespassing and requests for shoreline alteration regulation information and turkey hunting information. He worked fishing, boating, invasive species, turkey hunting and ATV enforcement activities. Crappie and sunfish success was poor this week.

CO Luke Gutzwiller (Windom) spent time this past week working angling and turkey hunting activity. Assistance was given with an ATV safety class held in Windom. Numerous wildlife calls were fielded throughout the week. K9 Earl spent time training in St. Paul.

CO Zachary Larson (Hutchinson East) patrol efforts were focused on shore fishing and turkey hunting activity throughout McLeod and Sibley Counties. Assistance was given to local law enforcement agencies on various calls and trespass complaints were taken.

CO Eric Schettler (Fairmont) conducted angler and watercraft inspections. Public accesses were patrolled. AIS efforts have started, and anglers are complying very well. ATV activity was monitored on backroads.

CO Nicholas Klehr (Litchfield) spent the week following up on public waters violations along with possible wetland violations. Two firearm safety classes were attended, one in Grove City and the other in Cedar Mills. CO Klehr also spent time working OHV safety and enforcement for illegal operation and registration violations on OHMs and ATVs.

CO Cassie Block (Willmar East) Spent time this week checking anglers on area lakes. Block also focused efforts on ATV enforcement. In addition, time was also spent speaking to youth at a fishing clinic about boat and water safety.

CO Brett Wiltrout (Hutchinson-West) focused patrol efforts on ATV?s and sport fishing. Other time was spent on possible wetland violations. Additional activities included working turkey hunters and state trail violations.
