Comments: Thomas Lake is a shallow lake that is aerated to prevent winterkill. It has a good population of Largemouth Bass. The fishing pier will give you access to the deeper water that might hold more fish. This is a wonderful lake to fish from a canoe. A lake survey was conducted in July, 2011.

2011 Lake Survey Results:

Location and Date Species Abundance Average Length (in) Maximum Length (in)
Thomas Black Crappie low 8.2 9.2
(Dakota) Bluegill high 5.0 6.5
  Hybrid Sunfish low 6.0 7.5
  Black Bullhead low 11.4 11.4
  Pumpkinseed Sunfish low 6.4 6.9
  Largemouth Bass med 10.75 19.0
