Numerous areas throughout the state are in drought conditions, elevating the risk of causing fires while riding through or parking in dry fuels. To prevent the risk of causing a fire:

• Check in with local officials on weather conditions and considerations. Check fire danger and burning restriction before riding.

• Continue monitoring OHV trail closures. Trail statuses are updated Thursdays at 2:00, although they may be updated more often if the local conditions call for it.

• Do not stop or park in tall grass while riding on the trails.

• Before, during, and after your ride, continue to check for grass, debris, and mud in the frame and especially against or near the muffler which can build heat and start a fire.
