Public Hunting Opportunities

  • The Minnesota Forest Legacy Program has acquired public hunting rights and other public recreation opportunities on more than 250,000 acres of working forest lands in Aitkin, Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Crow Wing, Koochiching, Lake, St. Louis and Itasca counties.
  • Recreation opportunities include hunting, trapping, fishing, hiking, cross-county skiing, snowshoeing, and bird watching.
  • Check the individual Forest Legacy Area maps for motor-use restrictions.
