OHV Trail Detail

Wilderness Trail

Wilderness Trail

This 60-mile trail includes an internal 40-mile loop, and is completely contained by the Chippewa National Forest in Northern Itasca County. Connections to the Bigfork and Balsam Connection Trail to the east and the Alvwood/Squaw Lake Trail to the west create a regional connection for ATV/OHM users in northern Itasca County and beyond.

The Wilderness Trail follows U.S. Forest Service roads, snowmobile trails, county and township roads, and connects to Bigfork, Marcell, Talmoon, Bowstring and Wirt. The trail primarily traverses through forested areas, highlighting a large portion of the National Forest Fall Color Tour route. This trail is provided by Itasca County and maintained by the Wilderness Wheelers ATV club.
