Alvwood-Squaw Lake Trail

This 159 mile trail shares road shoulders and right-of-way to make a scenic tour through Bowstring State Forest and the Chippewa National Forest. Enjoy the ride through forests of Aspen and Pine, view of lakes and many streams, and cross the longest ATV trail boardwalk in Itasca County. This trail connects to the Island Lake Connection Trail to the Blue Ox Trail. The trails is provided by Itasca County and the Alvwood-Squaw Lake ATV Club.

Winter Use: Trail is open to winter ATV riding until March 15. ATVs are not allowed on groomed sled trails after December 1. In winter most of the trail itself is on plowed roads that are shared with road vehicles. There are no official parking lots; however some area businesses allow parking. Please note that there are no vault toilets or porta-potties any time of year for this trail.
