Walley trolling on Mille Lacs Lake

Fishing on Mille Lacs LakeLead-core trolling is one of the most effective methods of catching walleye over a wide range of depths. This course will provide practical experience in lead-core and planar board trolling.

Some of the topics covered will include rod selection (pros and cons), line-counter reels, speed control, depth control, lure choice, snap weights, landing fish from a moving boat, night fishing, and much more.

Fishing will take place on a comfortable 22-foot pontoon specifically customized for trolling.

All experience levels welcome. In addition to walleye, we may catch smallmouth bass, northern pike, and yellow perch.

You will need a fishing license, your favorite PFD (life jackets provided, but if you have one you like, you might want that one), snacks or drinks and warm clothing. Note that even if the day seems warm, it can be much cooler on the lake than on shore.
