Purpose
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), in cooperation with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, is seeking comments from the public on a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the construction of a segment of the North Country Trail through Hubbel Pond WMA in Becker County.
Approval of the EA will allow the DNR to issue a 10-year lease to the North Country Trail Association, Inc. for the construction and maintenance of the North Country Trail through Hubbel Pond WMA. This 5.1 mile trail segment would be part of a 4,600 mile trail system that would cross America's heartland through seven states.
