What do I need to do?
1 Clean
Remove plants, mud and debris from all surfaces.
2 Drain
Remove all water from the equipment and its parts.
3 Dry for 21 days
Keep dock, lift, or raft out of water to dry for 21 days before installing.
Why 21 days?
Equipment installed in the water for long periods, like docks and lifts, can hold water or attached invasive species in hard-to-reach places that can live out of water for days.
Minnesota’s 21-day dry time is designed to reduce the risk of any attached species surviving after being missed during cleaning or decontamination. The law requires used docks, lifts, and rafts to be out of the water for 21 days before installing into a different lake or river.
