Ice Storm - Southwest Minnesota: April 9-10, 2013

A storm system centered over Kansas and the associated frontal system brought copious moisture northward into Minnesota on April 9 and 10. Cold air was drawn into the system and A significant ice storm developed over southwest Minnesota, and southeast South Dakota. The heaviest coating of ice was around the Worthington Area with 0.8 (eight tenths) of an inch of ice reported covering surfaces. Luverne had 0.7 (seven tenths) of an inch of ice coating surfaces.
