Wolves - Teaching activities

Get to the Wolves in Your Backyard project via the WISE Web site

The Wolves in Your Backyard project uses the WISE online delivery format to give high school students a background in the biology, management options and social issues concerning management of wolves. Through an online discussion with classmates, students are challenged to determine and defend a management option for their state.

The project is a combined effort of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and University of California at Berkeley.

What is WISE?

Harness the power of the Internet...wisely.

WISE is a simple yet powerful learning environment where students examine real-world evidence and analyze current scientific controversies. Curriculum projects are designed to meet standards and complement your current science curriculum. Your grade 5-12 students will find the projects exciting and engaging. A Web browser is all they need to take notes, discuss theories and organize their arguments. They can even work from home! The Teacher Area lets you explore new projects and grade your students' work on the Web. Best of all, everything in WISE is completely free.

To learn more about WISE, please visit the WISE Web site. There are several curriculum projects available for classroom use.
