George Crosby Manitou State Park
Maples are turning red along the Bensen Lake Loop trail and colors are aglow throughout the park. Look down for a riot of colorful fall mushrooms. The cool, damp weather has been ideal for them.Weekly report for this park
Wild River State Park
We are starting to see some pops of color from the maple trees and a general lightening of the forest. Sumac is still quite colorful, with bright and deep red hues. Prairie grasses and fall wildflowers are dotting the landscape with a maroon and gold contrast.Weekly report for this park
Sakatah Lake State Park
The sumac have turned brilliant shades of crimson while the aspen and maple are adding both yellow and reddish-orange hues to the forest canopy. The bottle gentian just started blooming within the past week, and there are still some fall sunflowers, black-eyed Susan, goldenrod, Indian pipe, and aster hanging on to their petals as well.Weekly report for this park
