Fur farm regulation

What is this rule about?

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is adopting rules to regulate fur farms under Minnesota Statutes, section 97A.106.

What will this rulemaking will do?

The proposed rules include provisions for the issuance of fur farm licenses, containment of animals, disposal of carcasses, disease testing and reporting, inspections, acquisition of animals and record keeping by license holders.

Who might be affected by these rule changes?

These rule changes may impact fur farm operators; individuals who breed or propagate furbearers for sale or display; feed and supply providers; veterinarians who work with farmed furbearers; and people or organizations concerned about the welfare of farmed furbearers.
