The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is accepting comments until 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, on a proposed rule that would make the existing lead-free ammunition requirement permanent at Keystone Woods Wildlife Management Area in northern Washington County.
The proposed rule continues a requirement that has been in effect as a temporary, expedited emergency rule since the property opened to public hunting in fall 2024. The rule as proposed extends a long-standing pattern of use established by previous landowners that is consistent with the federal lead-free ammunition requirements for waterfowl hunting. It does not include any substantive changes from what is currently in place.
