Thistledew Trails

The Thistledew Trails are a 25-mile system consisting of a north and south loop located within George Washington State Forest. The trail passes through rolling hills of mature pine and aspen forest. Both loops are managed for ATV and horseback riding, so please watch for other riders.

Itasca County

From Nashwauk, go north on Hwy. 65 for 32 miles, then left on Hwy. 1 for 3.6 miles. Continue north on Co. Rd. 452 to parking.

When open

OPEN – Logging activity near the Horse Campground as well in the Button Box area. Watch for signs on trail notifying of possible reroutes, detours, and closures. Stay alert for logging equipment and activity. As always ride with caution.
