Data Access within the Coreshed virtual core library

a sample of hyperspectral imaging results

In addition to the reports and processed data files offered in DNR data releases, Corescan has provided hyperspectral core imagery results to the DNR within the Coreshed virtual core library. Coreshed is a proprietary online viewing platform that organizes project imagery and provides in-depth visualization tools that support geological interpretations of scanned drill core. DNR and Corescan have partnered to extend the DNR’s access to its Coreshed-hosted data to the general public. Individuals can create their own Coreshed accounts to log in and explore the project data.

Coreshed Access: Log in or create a new account to view project data.

Presentation of DNR Corescan project data within Coreshed is offered on an "as-is" basis, using the same parameters, content options, and mineral keys that have been selected by DNR geologists to visualize project results. Data is also available without the visualization tools offered in Coreshed on the News & Data Releases page of this site.

User resources

First-time Coreshed users are encouraged to watch the practicum video on the Video Series page, or download Coreshed's user guide. Coreshed has also posted a brief introductory video that features some of our project results.

For log-in issues or to report a problem with Coreshed data displays, please contact [email protected].

The DNR does not provide technical support for the Coreshed application.  Brief, specific questions about using project data can be sent to the DNR, which will respond on a time-available basis:
