William H. Morrissey Visitor Center
The visitor center is located just steps away from the cave entrance. Here, visitors can purchase tour tickets and receive an orientation to the cave and the park. Exhibits explain the geology of the area and the history of the cave. The building hosts an information center, interactive exhibits, lecture/exhibit room, Nature Store and restrooms.
Visit the Nature Store
Be sure to stop at the Nature Store and see a wide variety of nature-related gifts, gifts of food, and books. You'll find merchandise that reflects the nature and features of the park and cave plus great gifts for children. Proceeds from Nature Store purchases fund resource and interpretive projects in state parks. The store is open during visitor center hours.
Other Park Attractions
Mystery Cave is just one part of the 3,000-acre Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park. Camping, fishing, hiking and touring the historic site are all popular activities at the main park area.
- Take in the soft pastels of wildflowers in spring or listen to barred owls calling and wild turkeys gobbling. Hike or bring your horse to ride the ridge tops and stream valleys.
- Observe interesting geologic features along the way including sinkholes and the dramatic Big Spring.
- In the fall, don't miss the bold colors of the forest.
- Winter invites visitors to ski or snowmobile the Bluff Country.
