The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has confirmed multiple young of the year zebra mussels in Spectacle Lake in Isanti County, between the cities of Princeton and Cambridge. This is the first confirmation of zebra mussels in an Isanti County lake.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has published the Meeker County Groundwater Atlas. This Part B atlas covers groundwater conditions and sensitivity to pollution. It expands on Part A, the geologic atlas previously published by the Minnesota Geological Survey. 


New paintings chosen for pheasant and turkey stamps

Mark Kness of Albert Lea won the Minnesota Pheasant Habitat Stamp contest and Stephen Hamrick of Lakeville won the Turkey Habitat Stamp contest. Both of the annual contests took place Sept. 19 and are sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.


DNR fall land sale includes parcels in St. Louis, Carlton and Pine counties

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will offer a total of 17 parcels of land at three public oral bid auctions in October. The auctions will be held in Virginia, Wadena and St. Paul. Included in the auctions are three unimproved recreational land parcels in St. Louis County, one in Carlton County, and one in Pine County.
