Attention visitors
Fire danger is increasing, and burning restrictions are now in place.
Due to high fire danger in the immediate vicinity of Bear Head Lake State Park and Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park, campfires are not allowed anywhere in these state parks.
For all other state parks with this alert, attended campfires are still allowed in established fire rings in campgrounds or picnic areas. Campfires are not allowed in backcountry campsites, even if there is a fire ring.
Camping stoves are permitted.
Do not leave campfires unattended, and make sure your fire is completely out before you leave the area. Have a shovel and water nearby to extinguish campfires. Use the drown-stir-repeat method to extinguish your fire until it is cold to the touch.
Review current fire danger and burning restriction information for all counties.
Park your vehicle away from grass or vegetation, where hot exhaust systems could spark a wildfire.
Stop by the park’s ranger station for the latest safety and fire regulation information.
Remember that fireworks are prohibited in state parks and recreation areas by statute.
