Nongame Wildlife Fund tax checkoff

Effective starting the 2005 tax season, written notice of the option to contribute to the Nongame Wildlife Fund "checkoff" is required by Minnesota Statutes 270C.445 Subd.5a.

A tax preparer must give written notice of the option to contribute to the Nongame Wildlife Fund and this notice must be included with preliminary worksheets or organizers sent to clients.

Let us make your job easier

The DNR's Nongame Wildlife Program offers two free ways for tax preparers to meet these requirements.

These free post-it pads can be attached to the worksheets and organizers you give your clients. Each pad has 50 notes and will be mailed to your office after you place your order.

Download this digital flyer and attach it to your portfolios for an easy, paperless way to inform your clients about the Nongame Wildlife Fund tax checkoff.

Please call the InfoCenter at 651-296-6157 or 888-646-6367 if you have questions.

Thank you for helping Minnesota's at-risk wildlife

The majority of funding for the Nongame Wildlife Program comes from checkoff donations at tax time. We have no guaranteed source of funding, and we use these donations to restore declining wildlife populations, enhance their habitat, and engage and educate Minnesotans. Every dollar donated helps ensure a future for Minnesota's at-risk wildlife!
