Welcome to the Minnesota boat and water safety and education page. Our goal is to provide people with safety resources and boating safety programs for adults and youth and to coordinate those efforts with other safety agencies and groups throughout the state.
The boat and water safety program collects and interprets statistical data on boat and water accidents and boating in general. Minnesota continues to be a leader in recreational boating, and with more than 800,000 registered boats the state ranks in the top five annually in the number of registered watercraft per capita.
