Due to the icy conditions and lack of snow we are closing the ski trails for the season. All trails are now open for hiking or snowshoeing. If hiking use caution due to the icy conditions. Ice cleats, or the cleats on snowshoes are highly recommended.

The trail(s):
Park features wooded hills mixed with open prairie along the wild and scenic St. Croix River. Beginner loop is 2 1/2 miles long. The rest of the trails are intermediate or advanced.


  • Warming house available near the trailhead.
  • Ski Passes are sold at the Park Contact Station.
  • Ski rentals are not available at the park, but snowshoe rental is available. There is 11 miles of designated snowshoe trail.
  • Winter camping is backpack only. There are no electrical hookups. Drinking water is available.

From St. Paul, go 9 miles east on I-94, then 7 miles south on Highway 95 and 3 miles east on County Road 22.
