The trail(s):
The trail system traverses an area of Jack pine, aspen, spruce and cedar. The forest is interspersed with wetlands of willow, lowland grass and bog vegetation.
Facilities:
- A warming house is located at Bemis Hill.
- Primitive camping is available at Bemis Hill but campsites are not plowed. Hand pump and latrine are available.

Getting there
The first trailhead is located 12 miles south of Warroad on county road 5. The second trailhead is located at Bemis Hill, 12 miles south of Warroad on county road 5, then six miles west on the Thompson Forest Road.
Parking is available at the Old Clear River Ranger station or at Bemis Hill.
