You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.


  • A wood heated warming house is located at the trailhead and in the picnic area.
  • Ski passes are sold at the park office.
  • Winter camping is available, 5 drive in electric sites and 2 drive in non electric. contact park for more details.

From Lake City follow TH 61/63 northwest 5 miles to Frontenac, turn right on County 2 and proceed north one mile to park entrance. Trail head at park office.

Parking is located at the trailhead.
