Trail conditions:

Trails are mostly melted, with patches of bare ground intermixed with water/ice. Hikers should prepare for slippery conditions. Please keep in mind there are no indoor restrooms available at the park office at this time.

Trails vary from flat, wooded, open prairie to steep ravines.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.

Facilities:

  • Warming houses will not be available in the 2020-2021 season.
  • Ski passes are sold at the park office and at the self-service kiosk.
  • Snowshoe rentals available at park office. Call ahead for hours and availability.
  • Winter camping is available, 7 drive-in electric sites and 3 drive-in non electric. Contact park for more details.

From Lake City follow TH 61/63 northwest 5 miles to Frontenac, turn right on County 2 and proceed north one mile to park entrance. Trail head at park office.

Parking is located at the trailhead.
