Trail conditions:

New snow is falling today (2/25) - we may get 3-4"? The last tracks are still firm and visible under the new flakes, but all trails will be re-groomed Thurs/Friday for the weekend.We have our Candle ski/snowshoe/hike event on 2/18/23! Still looking for a few volunteers to put candles out - come early to help and stay to enjoy the evening fun! Call the park at 218-595-7100 for more info.The snowmobile trail is in better condition now than in past weeks. CJ Ramstad is fully groomed and the GIA access trails should also be open and passable. There were a lot of trees down though, so ride with caution.

Trails run along the beautiful Lake Superior shoreline offering rolling hillsides and scenic vistas.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.

Facilities:

  • A warming house is located in the visitor's center.
  • Daily ski passes and self-registration is available at the park office. Annual ski passes must be purchased at an ELS vendor.
  • Winter camping is available.

The trails are located 13 miles north of Two Harbors off of Highway 61. Follow park road to trail head.
