The trail(s):
All trails are wooded and wind through ten thousand acres of state park land. Ski trails are easy going through river and lowland areas, moderate going through rolling upland forests and difficult in the wooded glacial terminal moraine areas. Seven miles of snowshoe trails take you to areas not available at any other time of year. Snowmobile trails go through different types of terrain and also connect to the greater Minnesota Grant-In-Aid trail system. Mille Lacs-Kathio has trails for every skill level and every taste. The park is host to deer, fisher, coyote, raptors and often porcupine are seen in the treetops.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.
