Snow Depth and Groomed Trail Conditions

McCarthy Beach State Park

Trail conditions:

Icy Spring Snow Conditions.

Sunny locations have no base and a few area trails have rocks in some spots poking through the base. Expect hard, icy conditions. Use caution on corners and give plenty of stopping distance at road crossings. Use caution on lakes and rivers as conditions change from day to day.

Cross country ski trails will not be groomed again this season. The trails are icy, have no cut track coverage and pine needles and pine cones are present due to the warm temperatures the last few weeks. Reminder that all skiers need a ski pass for ski trails. The ski pass helps to fund Grant in Aid trails and other ski trails in the state. Do you enjoy operating snowmobiles and love being in the woods? Give back to your neighbors and park visitors by becoming a volunteer ski trail groomer today. Without the help and dedication of volunteers many activities would not be possible in the park throughout the year. Contact the park office for more information.

Snowshoeing is allowed on trails not open to skiing or snowmobiling. The snow cover is compacted with a thick layer of hard snow on top.
