McCarthy Beach State Park

Trail conditions:

With recent snows the park is beautiful with it's snowy pines. Enjoy a snowmobile ride through the woods or getting out for some cross country skiing.

Ridge Top, Taconite and Tim Corey Snowmobile Trails are all groomed in the park. Use caution when crossing the lakes many slushy spots exist. Some bogs and swamps have not frozen fully. Watch for deer and other wildlife crossing on trails. With deep snow in the area they are using trails to move around. Crews groomed snowmobile trails on 1/19/2020.

The cross country ski trails were groomed on 1/22/2020 in the campground and big hole loops. Red top has not been packed, skiers are welcome to cut their own trail. Reminder that all skiers need a ski pass for ski trails. The ski pass helps to fund Grant in Aid trails and other ski trails in the state. Do you enjoy operating snowmobiles and love being in the woods? Give back to your neighbors and park visitors by becoming a volunteer ski trail groomer today. Without the help and dedication of volunteers many activities would not be possible in the park throughout the year.

Snowshoeing is allowed on trails not open to skiing or snowmobiling. Get out and off trail explore with the sport of snowshoeing.
