Snow Depth and Groomed Trail Conditions

St Croix State Park

Trail conditions:

Report is current as of 0830 on 3/4/21. We're expecting to allow snowmobiles/skiers through the weekend of 3/6-3/7 but plan to close trails thereafter unless we get new snow. With recent temps reaching into the mid 40's our trail conditions have declined. We haven't been able to groom snowmobile trails since late February with overnight lows barely freezing. As of last weekend the trails were in good shape but those conditions aren't expected to last for this coming weekend with the sun and warm temps.Ski trails are in poor condition. They were most recently groomed on 2/22/21. Shortly after our last grooming grass and bare ground was observed in the ski tracks and what snow we have is dissipating quickly. Trails leaving the Lodge in our Campground are groomed with two tracks for skiing only. This includes the Sundance Trail to the North, the bike trail to the CCC Camp and the Riverbluff Trail. We have a trail going from Headquarters Office to the bike trail that's groomed with a ski track on one side and flat tracked on the other for another access to the system. The bike trail from the CCC Camp to the intersection of Norway Point Road is flat tracked on one side and is groomed for skiing on the other. There is parking at Headquarters for visitors to access this trail. The bike trail from Norway Point Road to Lake Clayton is flat tracked for hiking and snowshoeing but skiers can skate ski there as well. Some snowshoe users are hiking off to the side of this trail to go through more snow and that's an option on all of our trails. A small parking lot can be found at the intersection of the bike trail and Norway Point Road for visitors to access this trail system also. The St. Croix Lodge and All Season Trail Center are closed per the Governors order. Restrooms are still available for use at St. Croix Lodge
