Snow Depth and Groomed Trail Conditions

Tettegouche State Park

Trail conditions:

We received a little light snow this week that allowed us to groom the trails. The base is still thin and conditions vary but overall are in good condition for skiing. The hiking trails are largely hard packed by use and expect icy spots on the trails hiding under the fresh snow. Traction devices are recommended if you are going to be hiking.

The trail(s):
Trails have many ups and down, traveling through both birch, aspen and conifer forests. There are lakes and overlooks through out the trail.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.

Facilities:

  • Ski passes are required.
  • Nearby resorts do rent out ski equipment.
  • Contact park for winter camping opportunities. Some sites are plowed throughout the winter.
