The sun has been out bright and warm during the day and it has been freezing hard at night and this is making for some icy hiking trails! Use caution and wear your traction aids if you have them. Ski trails are closed and no further grooming will occur this winter.

The trail(s):
Trails have many ups and down, traveling through both birch, aspen and conifer forests. There are lakes and overlooks through out the trail.

Facilities:

  • Ski passes are sold at the park office.
  • Nearby resorts do rent out ski equipment. The park rents snowshoes.
  • Contact park for winter camping opportunities. Some sites are plowed throughout the winter.

The trailhead is located four and one half miles northeast of Silver Bay off of Highway 61.
