Trail Snow Report

Tettegouche State Park

Trail conditions:

RAIN! We got almost 1.5 inches of rain on top of our snowpack. The ski trails are essentially ungroom-able, right now. The snow is rock hard when it's below freezing and like oatmeal above freezing. Stay tuned, but this may be the beginning of the end...The snowshoeing conditions, inland, are good, right now. We have no "snowshoe trails" but snowshoes can be used on any of our trails and even off of the trails. Make your own tracks!Snowmobile trails in the area are reportedly in fair condition.

The trail(s):
Trails have many ups and down, traveling through both birch, aspen and conifer forests. There are lakes and overlooks through out the trail.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.

  • Ski passes are sold at the park office.
  • Nearby resorts do rent out ski equipment. The park rents snowshoes.
  • Contact park for winter camping opportunities. Some sites are plowed throughout the winter.
