William O'Brien State Park

Due to climbing temperatures and worsening trail conditions, William O'Brien has suspended our trail grooming operations for the season. Trails are still ski-able, but in poor to fair condition with icy spots and lots of tree/leaf litter.

The trail(s):
Ski trails are groomed for both skating and traditional use on the same trail. One set of tracks are on the right side of each trail and an eight foot skating surface is on the left side of the trail.


  • A year-round, heated, Visitor Center is located at the park.
  • Daily ski passes are sold at the park office.
  • Winter camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Self-registration is available at the park office.

The park entrance is located two miles north of Marine on St. Croix on Highway 95. Follow the park road and signs to the Visitor Center.
