Lake Vermilion - Soudan Underground Mine State Park
These trails were groomed yesterday and are in fair shape. Watch for occasional exposed rocks and bare ground.No Motorized Vehicles other than snowmobiles are allowed on State Trails or Grant-in-Aid snowmobile trails.

The park has five miles of snowmobile trail that connects from the Taconite State Trail to the Lake Vermilion ice trail. The ride takes you through old growth pines and young aspen forests with large wetland complexes to view along the way.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.

Take U.S. Highway 169 towards Ely and follow the signs. Soudan is located 2 miles east of Tower, MN (these directions will take you to the park).
Winter parking is not available at Lake Vermilion. Park at Soudan Underground Mine area. Use the Stuntz Bay Road entrance.
