Trail conditions:

The crosscut/cable bay trail is groomed and in fair condition; it will not receive another groom before the end of the season. The Miner?s loop is in poor condition.Spring conditions exist throughout our trails. There is ice and exposed ground in spots, especially in the corners. The trail(s):
The park has six miles of snowmobile trail that connects from the Taconite State Trail to the Lake Vermilion ice trail. The ride takes you through old growth pines and young aspen forests with large wetland complexes to view along the way.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.

Take U.S. Highway 169 towards Ely and follow the signs. Soudan is located 2 miles east of Tower, MN (these directions will take you to the park).

Snowmobilers: winter parking is not available - there's no space for trailers. Park at the nearest available trailhead and ride into the park.
