Kohlman Lake

Location:

This lake is located west of Highway 61 and north of County Road C in Maplewood. 

Species Present:

Walleye: lower than average abundance, average size.
Bluegill: higher than average abundance, average size.
Crappie: lower than average abundance, average size.
Bullhead species: lower than average abundance, average size.

 

Boat Access:

Anglers must access this lake by traveling up a shallow channel from Lake Gervais. 

Shore Fishing:

No shore fishing is available on this lake. 

Management Plans:

  1. Fisheries standard lake survey as needed when staff time permits.

Aquatic Invasive Species Alert:

This lake contains Eurasian watermilfoil. Remove any visible plants from your boat, trailer, or other boating equipment before leaving the lake. 

Comments:

Kohlman Lake is a shallow, weedy lake with a small area of open water in the center of the lake. Common Carp have been abundant here, but recent activities sponsored by the local watershed district have reduced the Common Carp population greatly.
