The typical anticipated season dates are from April through October; however, the actual season dates may start later or end earlier.
New in 2024 - apply for selected seasonal jobs at more than one location with just one application! Applications will be accepted online from February to September. Positions are posted by DNR Region and individual locations are listed in these regional job postings. Applicants will select locations they have interest in, and will be notified when a position becomes available.
Buildings and Grounds Worker
Responsible for:
- Building cleaning and repair
- State park, state trail and public water access maintenance and repair
- Grounds maintenance such as mowing, brushing, trail work, and dock installation and maintenance
- Basic equipment maintenance
- Park security (in some locations)
Important skills for buildings and grounds staff include skills in safe operation of equipment, ability to effectively recognize and solve problems, being a team player, ability to explain policies and procedures clearly and professionally to internal and external customers, and being welcoming to a diverse visitor base.

Parks and Trails Associate
