Most seasonal positions run from April through October, but the actual dates may start later or end earlier.
Applications are accepted online from February to September. We'll link them on this page when they're open.
Itasca State Park and specific parks in the northeast region may provide seasonal housing options for employees.
Positions are posted under their DNR region; each regional job posting will list all the specific locations where that job is available. Buildings and Grounds Worker
Responsible for:
Building cleaning and repair
State park, state trail and public water access maintenance and repair
Grounds maintenance such as mowing, brushing, trail work, and dock installation and maintenance
Basic equipment maintenance
Park security (in some locations)
Important skills for buildings and grounds staff include skills in safe operation of equipment, ability to effectively recognize and solve problems, being a team player, ability to explain policies and procedures clearly and professionally to internal and external customers, and being welcoming to a diverse visitor base.
