George Washington State Forest - Bear Lake Trail

The snow that has fallen so far this season has been relatively fluffy. The swamps have not yet froze through so we will be out packing them this week. We cannot groom until we get a bit more snow and the swamps frozen through.

The terrain is often steep and rocky with an abundance of lakes and rivers. This area is a mix of forest offering views of wildlife and beautiful vistas.

From Nashwauk, take Highway 65 north 17 miles to the Taconite Trail parking lot.
