George Washington State Forest - Bear Lake Trail
The northern section of the Bear Lake trail as well as the Little Bear trail was groomed on 1/16/2020. The southwest section of the Bear Lake trail is still being packed down to freeze through the swampy areas so it is not yet being groomed.

The terrain is often steep and rocky with an abundance of lakes and rivers. This area is a mix of forest offering views of wildlife and beautiful vistas.

From Nashwauk, take Highway 65 north 17 miles to the Taconite Trail parking lot.
